| The weekly To Do List is an important element of our school and should be taken seriously. The list should be completed honestly and as thoroughly as possible. It should be completed by the student at the end of each day and brought to class on the student’s first day back to class each week. It is to be handed to the instructor along with their attendance card. Upon 3 months of consistent and adequate completion of the To Do List the student will receive a red star to be placed on the left shoulder of the uniform. This red star shows their achievement of responsibility. In addition to the student’s completing their daily responsibilities and chores, parents can also take this opportunity to comment to the instructors about their child. Should there be something in particular that you would like the instructor to know about. For example, good behavior in school / helpful to the teacher, or the child has been bad at home / hitting their sibling. Please write your comments in the space provided. The instructor will then use this opportunity to either praise the child in class while in the presence of their peers, or if necessary, comment privately in a tactful manner on the inappropriateness of their bad behavior. This is all in an effort to help reinforce and support your position to properly instill good values into the children. Corrective behavior is done without judgment of the child and not done harshly or embarrassingly. We also encourage you to send in your child’s report card, as receiving and maintaining good grades are an important part of our martial arts training for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school at (845) 634-4640 at any time. You can also call to schedule an appointment with SENSEI to discuss your child in a more confidential manner. |
